The National Park of Mala Fatra is situated in the westernmost Slovak high mountains Mala Fatra. Gorges, rock peaks and attractive ridge trails are among its attractions.
The Krivanska part of the Mala Fatra Mts. was declared protected area for the abundance of dissected relief forms and numerous natural assets, with many rare plants and animals among them. The national park nowadays spreads over 226 sq. km. The waterfall Sutovsky vodopad, Horne Diery and Dolne Diery as well as the summits Maly Rozsutec, Velky Rozsutec or Velky Fatransky Krivan are the most popular hiking destinations in the area, all of them within easy reach of the neighbouring villages. During this hiking tour you will walk through the whole national park to see its most wonderful places. This tour is suitable for those who visit the park for the very first time and want to spend a tranquil week exploring its unique fauna and flora without spending unnecessary time for transfers between the villages. In addition you will visit cultural monuments like castles and traditional Slovak villages with wooden houses.
